Imrecon

Capacity analysis E-mail

Imrecon brings together a range of data analysis, modelling and analytical methodologies to carry out analysis and report on capacity requirements and capital expenditure needs for infrastructure facilities.

Imrecon's methodologies complement those of infrastructure planning specialists and combine to provide regulators with useful ways to understand capacity issues and draw out the implications for capital expenditure requirements, finance, incentives and other policy aspects.

The integration of these methodologies was developed in conjunction with Dr Billy Hynes of Keith Simpson & Associates, initially in the airport sector for the Commission for Aviation Regulation in Ireland.

The methodologies include:

  • analysis of usage patterns, peak usage profile for infrastructure components and peak demand drivers
  • identify (survey) existing capacity and options for augmentation
  • generate scenarios for peak usage demand across components
  • generate scenarios for capacity additions
  • generate associated profiles of capital expenditure
  • integrate into financial forecasting models and policy simulation models
  • analyse financial risk issues arising
